Wonderful Wonderful Copenhagen!

On my way to Estonia for the winter, I took a flight via CPH and spent the day there en route... Even though the weather was literally atrocious I managed to get a fairly good look around and I wasn't disappointed... It's called Wonderful Wonderful Copenhagen for a reason you know!

Reminds me of Chesterfield!!!

Corkscrew!!

The Tivoli Gardens theme park.... It looked really pretty lit up at night, just a shame that (as like everything else in Scandinavia) you have to re-mortgage your house to be able to get in!

It gets cold up north! They even like to keep the bridges warm in the winter!!

Oslo, My thoughts are with you...

Following the horrific news about the attacks on the Norwegian capital today, I would just like to make a little note of compassion.

Oslo as a city is one of the most peaceful, fresh and welcoming places I have ever visited and I've been genuinely saddened by the events of today.

I hope not just Oslo, but the rest of Norway too will recover quickly and be stronger for it.

Tallinn/Helsinki 2011

Here are a few photos from my recent return to the Baltic.

Helsinki:
I Love these stairs - They were underground at the central train station of Helsinki - they look like the set from a Kubrick film in my opinion!
Central Train Station.... it was such a pitty that the weather was SO bad! My feet were like blocks of ice by this point!
Sculpture

The Baltic Sea - Still frozen! It was 20 above at home in Nottingham, Here it was -3!!

Tallinn, Viru.

Eurovision LIVE 2010

There isn't really much explanation needed when it comes to the Eurovision, or maybe its just that most of it CAN'T be explained!

Anyway, I think you can tell from my face that I enjoyed it. A picture speaks a thousand words eh?

On a (if you can call it) more serious note, there's a lot to be said about 100 million people all sharing in the same moment right across the world. The atmosphere in and around the arena was as friendly as it was exciting - something which led me to write my dissertation on the contest....
